Khushi Baby began in 2014 with a question posed in a Yale engineering classroom: how do you close the immunisation gap for families at the last mile?
The first answer was a small, elegant one — an NFC tag worn as a necklace, replacing the kaala dhaaga thread that mothers in Udaipur already trusted, now carrying a digital health record. Years of field research, rigorous trials, and hard-won government trust followed. By 2019, KB was presenting a vision to transform primary health care tracking and response through a new digital framework for India’s largest state.
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated everything. Overnight, the team was operating across 50,000 health workers and 12 million people — and what that pressure revealed was that KB's infrastructure could hold together an entire health system. That insight became CHIP, now India's second-largest digital health platform for community health management, with 86,000 CHWs onboarded across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.
After a decade, the question has grown: not just how to collect data at the last mile, but how to ensure it closes the care loop all the way to measurable health outcomes.
BUILT TO DRIVE SYSTEMIC CHANGE
Our vision is a resilient, data-driven health system in which every child, family and village is supported to achieve happiness and well-being - in other words, khushi.

Our Work Culture
We are a team that goes to the field before it draws conclusions, that measures obsessively because it knows instinct alone isn't enough, and that has learned — sometimes the hard way — to go far together rather than fast alone.
Our values were earned across a decade of working inside systems that resist change, in districts where trust takes years to build, and on problems where there are no clean answers.
We believe in frontline workers as the true architects of health outcomes. We believe in jugaad — the discipline of doing more with less, because the communities we work with have never had the luxury of waste. We believe in owning our mistakes as clearly as we celebrate our wins. And we believe, above all else, that the work must go on — because the people at the last mile don't have the option to wait for a better moment.
