ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP

We are excited to offer a comprehensive fellowship experience that provides hands-on learning, professional development, and a deep dive into our innovative approach to healthcare technology. Khushi Baby is a non-profit organization founded out of Yale in 2014, focusing on improving community health systems by using digital health technologies. Keeping up with the Yale tradition, we are thrilled to be partnering with Yalies to get involved in our work.

Khushi Baby’s work spans 11 SDG goals while advancing health worker empowerment, social determinants and capacity building amongst caregivers and decision-makers.Our work spans across a portfolio of family planning, maternal health, child health, malnutrition treatment, adolescent health, non-communicable disease control, reversible blindness, smoking cessation, cancer screenings, TB control, infectious disease surveillance, vector-borne disease control, childhood routine immunization and climate and health. In addition, we are also leading change in developing, testing and deploying AI models for improving diagnostic capabilities for the aforementioned program areas

We have built India’s first village-level multidimensional poverty index and continue working with local and state-level health officials to design targeted intervention to reduce inequities amongst rural and vulnerable communities. We do this by partnering with organizations like the World Health Organization, Gavi, UNICEF, Google AI, Public Health Foundation of India and UNFPA

Our summer fellowship program is designed to bring together bright, motivated, and passionate individuals ready to contribute to our mission, learn, and grow with us.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT AS A KB FELLOW?

India's public health system, the largest decentralized community health workforce in the world, is on the brink of a transformative leap. Under the National Health Mission, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) is transitioning from traditional paper-based tracking to a pioneering National Digital Health Mission. This shift aims to render health care delivery more accountable, efficient, and impactful. However, the current digital landscape is fragmented, with siloed solutions for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCH+A), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), tuberculosis (TB), and COVID-19, among others. This diversity creates a challenge in streamlining care and ensuring cohesive data flow.
